i look at this city

i look at this city from farther away

and see a million stars situated in place

i can’t see the humans or their malice, their deceitful ways

can’t see the compassionate hearts or the beauty they create

all i see is a collection of lights

and i adorn it with meaning, however i like

i wish this was us

far away, apart

so i could see you as i wanted
