The dresses that they gave her,
Found their way to the bin.
Because pants, she felt,
Were more like her thing.
And every time a dress
Found its way to the dump,
He always found some way
To get hold of ’em.
And twirling around
In the pretty pink gown
He felt butterflies and happiness,
Inside and around.
A very thought provoking post, I enjoyed the way you crafted it with a melodious rhyme as well. Thanks for sharing such a lovely post! According to your convenience please do read some of my writings would love to know what you think about them 😊

Wow what a melodious insight into the life of a confused soul, what the society asks of him vs what he really wants to be.

I love this! Very beautiful meaning; something that made someone feel confined is something that else would love but is confined to not be able to wear xx

Enjoyed the poem, not just the gender expectation/rebellion through clothes but also the recycle: one person’s garbage is another person’s treasure. Swirling in a found pretty is always fun.
