Attire

The dresses that they gave her,
Found their way to the bin.

Because pants, she felt,
Were more like her thing.

And every time a dress
Found its way to the dump,

He always found some way
To get hold of ’em.

And twirling around
In the pretty pink gown

He felt butterflies and happiness,
Inside and around.

  3. Enjoyed the poem, not just the gender expectation/rebellion through clothes but also the recycle: one person’s garbage is another person’s treasure. Swirling in a found pretty is always fun.
